3. Onboarding your device

​Before BYOD devices can connect to our secure school network, they must be enrolled with Microsoft Intune. This process will need to be completed for each device, so if your student changes or upgrades their device in the future, please follow these steps again.


Preboarding checklist:

  1. You will need to have your school email address and the password that is used to login to the computers at school. If you need a password reset contact your teacher.
  2. Your computer must be running Windows 11 and it can't be in S Mode. Click Here to visit Microsoft help on disabling S Mode.
  3. The account you are using must have Administrator rights, this is generally the default account that comes with the laptop.
  4. The computer must be connected to the internet.
  5. Don't install any security software until after the computer has been onboarded
  6. Do not sign in with your child's email account when initially setting up the laptop. The laptop should be set up with a personal account.

Configure the computer to log in using a PIN, and ensure that the chosen PIN is secure yet memorable to avoid being forgotten.
