At Mitchelton State School, or 'Mitchie' as it warmly referred to, we value the history and traditions of our school and work towards achieving our motto of ‘Nothing but the Best' each and every day. Our great school has been educating children since 1916 and celebrated its Centenary in 2016.

I am privileged to lead a team of commited and highly professional staff. Our students are confident and proud of their achievements. They develop leadership skills and understand the advantages of working together as a team to achieve their academic, sporting and creative goals. We set and maintain high standards, communicate and explicitly teach our behaviour expectations and virtues to ensure learning behaviours support academic success and ensure consistency between home and school.
Our great school boasts many terrific facilities including an inviting 25 m 6 lane pool with covered grandstand, state of the art Resource Centre, modern hall with lighting and stage, three expansive oval/play spaces, music programs, tennis courts, science clubs, sporting programs and much more.
In 2013, community and staff collaboratively decided to become an Independent Public School (IPS). As an IPS school we have greater autonomy in decision making processes to enhance student learning. Our staff and students are proud to be part of the team that is Mitchelton State School - a leading Independent Public School.
