Our Special Education program aims to facilitate active inclusion processes for all students with special needs in a collaborative working environment. Our teachers and other support staff, together with the students' class teachers, are committed to meeting the individual learning and development goals of all children in a welcoming and caring environment. Our Special Education Program Staff provide in-class support and alternative programs for students with diagnosed conditions including intellectual impairment, autistic spectrum disorder, physical impairment, hearing impairment, vision impairment and speech language disorders.Support for students may vary from in-class academic support, to small group teaching of social skills, life skills and emotional well-being strategies, depending on the individual student's needs. All verified students in our care have an Individual Education Plan (IEP) that targets their particular learning and development goals. We recognise the need for a whole school approach to supporting students with special needs in order to provide them with the best possible opportunities to reach their learning and development potential.
